Residential Programs

How We Help

Residential Programs

Mercy provides short and long-term housing for homeless adults along with a comprehensive array of supports designed to help them address the complex issues that resulted in them becoming homeless.

Our Residences

Homes built around
different needs.

Each residential program offers a safe, supportive environment with its own focus.

Residential Community

St. Elizabeth House

A cornerstone of Mercy s residential care, St. Elizabeth House is home to several specialized programs each offering safety, stability, and support tailored to the people it serves.

Women’s Program

Recovery is a journey, and having the right support can make all the difference. Our Women’s Recovery Program offers 90 days of transitional housing for women leaving treatment, along with personalized guidance and resources that help them regain confidence, strengthen their independence, and successfully transition to life in the community.

Community Respite Program

For adults facing a mental health crisis, Mercy’s Community Respite Program provides a welcoming alternative to an inpatient hospital stay. In a calm, home-like setting, residents receive personalized support, nutritious meals, and coordinated care designed to promote recovery, restore stability, and prepare them to return safely to independent living.

Mercy House

Living with chronic health conditions can make finding and maintaining housing especially challenging. The Mercy House Program offers individuals living with HIV/AIDS and co-occurring medical conditions the care, guidance, and resources they need to manage their health while building a more stable future.

Residential Community

Residence at St. Mary s

The Residence at St. Mary’s provides a welcoming place to call home for 12 adults with physical and developmental disabilities. Situated within Saint Mary Home in West Hartford, CT, the program combines the comfort and privacy of individual apartments with 24-hour assistance, home-cooked meals, and individualized support designed to help residents thrive and enjoy meaningful, fulfilling lives.

Residential Community

Haven at Charter Oak

For many young adults, the transition to adulthood can be especially difficult without the guidance and encouragement of a strong support system. The Haven at Charter Oak helps bridge that gap for young adults ages 18–25, many of whom are transitioning from Department of Children and Families (DCF) services or other supervised living arrangements.

In a welcoming, structured setting with 24-hour on-site support, residents are empowered to build confidence, develop essential life skills, and take meaningful steps toward a successful, independent future.

Through personalized guidance, residents strengthen their emotional well-being, pursue educational and employment opportunities, and gain the tools they need to thrive as active, independent members of their communities.
